Our engineering team supports a rapidly growing international platform operating across multiple markets and high-volume traffic environments. We are looking for a Freelance DevOps Engineer to support the scalability, reliability, automation, and operational excellence of our infrastructure.

This role is ideal for a hands-on infrastructure engineer who enjoys solving operational challenges, improving deployment pipelines, optimizing cloud infrastructure, and supporting modern distributed systems.

You will work closely with our CTO and development team to ensure our systems remain stable, observable, secure, and scalable as the business continues to grow.

What You’ll Do

• Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure running on AWS.
• Maintain and improve Kubernetes (EKS)-based environments and deployments.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Support infrastructure-as-code initiatives using Terraform or similar tools.
• Monitor platform performance, reliability, and uptime.
• Improve observability, logging, alerting, and incident response processes.
• Collaborate closely with developers to improve deployment workflows and operational efficiency.
• Help optimize infrastructure costs, scalability, and security practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues and support system reliability improvements.
• Contribute to infrastructure documentation and operational best practices.

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or Site Reliability Engineer.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS.
• Experience managing Kubernetes (EKS) environments in production.
• Experience managing and scaling relational databases on AWS (Postgres).
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD tooling and deployment automation.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
• Familiarity with containerized applications and Docker.
• Experience with monitoring and observability platforms:
  • Grafana
  • OpenTelemetry
  • Prometheus
  • ELK Stack
  • Datadog
  • or similar tools
• Strong Linux and networking fundamentals.
• Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure and production issues independently.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Professional proficiency in English.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Experience supporting high-traffic consumer platforms.
• Experience within SaaS, Digital Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, or eCommerce environments.
• Exposure to backend application environments such as Elixir/Phoenix.
• Experience implementing security and compliance best practices.
• Experience with cost optimization and cloud scalability strategies.
• Professional proficiency in Italian.
